Kia ora e te whānau,
Term 4 began with 6 classes in the school! Staff and children have been focused this week on re-establishing rules, routines, and expectations in class and across the school, with links to our school values of whanaukataka/belonging and manaakitaka/kindness & respect.
The concept in learning for Term 4 is Kia Kaha -
‘Students will understand that Kia Kaha leads us to be empowered and connected so we can take opportunities to make positive contributions to communities we belong to.’
I have already heard some wonderful conversations about making good choices, feelings, and learning interests this week. I am always excited to hear a knock on my office door and to see the proud faces of children coming to share their learning with me. Some fabulous Year 6 children shared their goals for this term, and I look forward to seeing them develop the confidence to take on the challenge of moving on to a new school next year.
Part of being connected and empowered to be great learners at school is the support from home. Having positive conversations about school and/or learning, as well as building independence and resilience at home, helps children to be successful at school. We encourage you to be active participants in your children’s school experience and look forward to seeing you over the term.
